Representing Ireland at the Universities of Shady Grove's International Night, the Performance Group lit up the stage. Chuck, Maureen, Linda, Ann Marie R., Connie, Emmett, Russell, Sonja, Tom and Bill demonstrated the Walls of Limerick and Everyman's Chance, with many of the audience enthusiastically joining them in the Walls. Tom provided the music. Chris R. took the photo of the dancers, shown below. Soda bread was the Irish fare on our table, at this fine showcase of many cultures.
Here's a video of the dancing and some of the other goings on:
Our instructor, Larry, has a great sense of humor and loves to joke about style points and the wrath of the mythical ceili police. Russell and his wife wove the meme into a fitting shirt given to our chief, Larry.
Robin and Emmett spent a long President’s weekend in Denver with his youngest daughter, son-in-law, and four grandchildren. Robin reported, “Before we flew back, we braved the extra cold weather to see Red Rocks and the Colorado Music Hall of Fame (with John Denver and Judy Collins memorabilia).” A great get-away weekend.
Kevin and Liz made their annual escape from the polar vortex-induced cold of the Maryland winter to toasty Florida. Proving it, and maybe rubbing it in, Kevin sent a photo of one of his big bass catches. Good going!
Our Events Calendar lists many member birthdays (but not birth years, ahem...) and one of them coincidentally happened to be at an RKIDs class. Alison moved into another year, helped along by a cake provided by Marie. Also celebrating were Connie and David M.
